View Full Version : Browning Hi-Power 1976 "C" series - new pics!

I have a question for some of those Hi-Power experts out there....

I have purchased a 1976 "C" series BHP for an excellent price. After reviewing the serial numbers on the Browning site as well as other sites, it appears that the "C" series guns were made until 1975. Later guns were given a new series of numbers.

Would a 1976 "C" series be a leftover in production? If so, is there additional unique value in this gun?

Thanks in advance.

Steven A Camp's website will tell you most everything about the Hi-Power:

I have a "69C" series P35 in nearly new condition that I shoot only from time to time---very nicely put together pistol. Any of the older Hi Power pistols (C or T series) are collectable if in fine shape---mine has "ring hammer" and original pouch. Sounds like you picked up a very fine older Hi Power. I have a much later FN marked MK111 9mm with the SFS system that is my primary P35 shooter.

Beautiful High Power. I have been wanting one for a long time. Just haven't found the right price.

Nice looking HP. I picked one up several years ago and according to the Browning site I have a 1981 piece, looks identical to the one pictured above. I am looking at the HP and the like new Yugo Tokarev pistol I picked up and it is amazing the similarities.
