I rented a p220 at the range a while back and was really impressed with how well it shot. I decided to pick up one myself and found this one. I lucked out and got one with the sig aluminium grips (they now come with hogue grips).

Can't wait to take it to the range :)

my 220 is by far the favorite in my collection. I dumped the factory grips for Hogue because my hands are big. sweet shooting gun.

Perhaps the best home defense pistol know to mankind.
You be may one or more of the below
1) Very smart human
2) A lucky devil

Either way good job , I own a 220 st and feel it will last forever even if shot 100,000rounds.

TWINS ?

Great gun . I have owned mine for 3 years now. Let me give you some advice. Keep your factory sights. I switched mine out with the trijicon sights and my aim is not like it use to be. LaserMax Laser internal Laser don't waste your money on one as the spring replacement is not like a factory spring. Busted my take down lever. Replacement clips only go Sig stay away from the 10 rounders as on some ammo the 10 rounders jam on the 2 or 3rd round. I love the hogue grips they feel great. You will love the gun you bought. I also bought the 22 conversion kit from Sig you will love it.

I favor Sigs but don't have any in .45 (.40. & .380). But that is a beautiful firearm. I have avoided .45 ACP because of the cost (yes I know .380 ACP is just as expensive--but it's great in sub-compact while I already have .40s). But if you folks keep up this kind of porn I won't be able to resist much longer. Damn you all--my wife hates all of you ;-)

your slide looks shorter than the OP's 5 incher

the LaserMax really is a bad add-on, it puts undue stress on the takedown lever...along the same vein, avoid Wolfe replacement springs for Sigs in weights higher than 15-17 pounds. they are too long and go "solid" as they compress

i've actually had very good luck with aftermarket mags from Act-Mag. i have a alloy framed 220 and two 220STs and the Act-Mags have been great

The sights are the only thing about this gun I'm not sold on. It has front night sight and rear adjustable target sights (non night sight).

Yep noticed that mine is the Sig 220S . I would never use that laserMax again. I think the ammo I had issues with were wad cutters . I use to reload my own 45ca ammo. I don't get much time to shoot anymore so its been a bit.

Congratulations, that's one fine looking pistol.

When it was time for a .45 cal pistol, i opted for a P220 over a 1911. It just made sense since i already had 3 other P2xx pistol. Hmm, maybe a Sig 1911 should be on my short list :D.

Sigs is just one of the best if not the best out there. Just my .02

I would love a stainless P220 and can't wait until I find a NIB or LNIB condition example in California. An alloy frame P220 is my wife's bedside friend.

I rented the Sig 1911 at OnTarget in Laguna and absolutely loved the gun. They told me that the gun has had about 150k! rounds through it. They've never had to replace any parts.

On my shopping list
P220 Match Elite
P226 Combat 9mm
Sig 1911

That is a beauty. Of all the handguns I own, my P220 feels the best. I also have a P245. :D Next on the list of Sigs will be a P220 Elite. I like .45ACP Sigs.

I bought this P220ST a year ago, slightly used from a seller in CA. It has become one of my favorites, and I think it shoots better than my Colt 1911s.

Did you have the controls refinished? All the stainless p220s I've seen come with black controls.

That looks like a nickel finish in the pic to be honest.

The P226 in Stainless is a very similar creature and is on the CA list.
http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/safeguns_resp.asp

I don't see the P220 Stainless there in 9mm but its there in 45
Go figure.

See the commercial sales section here and read yzernie's listing he has a couple off the stainless P226's right now.

The Safariland Tactical Holster (6004 series) works great w/my P220-ST.

The P220-ST is definitely my favorite/most accurate non-1911 .45!

I searched for a holster for my P220 with a TLR-1 and did not have any luck. I think Safariland has a holster that fits a light, but not the TLR. I asked a custom leather holster maker about it and he said he *could* make one, but didn't want to risk ruining the light (needed to make the mold) by doing it.
