View Full Version : SIG Pro SP2022 help me find the light

07-16-2010, 3:27 PM
I realize the real needs for the tactical light,at night when there is no light at all,
but I don't own a single gun that has the rail,
So I went and get the Sig SP2022, still in 10 days waiting,
Now I need advise on what light to get & where is the place to get it,
I'm thinking getting one with leaser & light all in one system,
I heard some story that some of them not holding very tight or not being very bright
I'm sure there is lot of experts out here with SP2022's and the light system,
So help me to get a right one at once.

Get this, from here..

Optics planet ships real quick and has good prices. Ordered a bunch of stuff from them.

EDIT: You want a laser too?.. get this one..

I have both items (TLR1 and TLR2) and they're quality pieces that dont break the bank.

I have both as well. The TLR1 is on HD shotgun and has survived so far.

TLR-2 has been pretty good to me so far, and the price was right.

If you're looking at a TLR-1, check out the TLR-1s, the newer model. A couple places are selling them for basically the same price as the older TLR-1 and the S model is not only brighter but has a strobe feature. But if you are looking for a laser on it all-in-one, then check out the TLR-2. I've only owned a TLR-1 so I can't comment on the laser.

I have a TLR-1 on my Glock 17 and it's solid. No amount of recoil can loosen it when you have it tightened up using a coin. It's very bright too. nicely constructed product. You won't be disappointed. Stay away from the cheap knock off lasers at the gun shows. I bought one and it would never hold zero after the first shot. Learned the hard way. Now I have a pricey laser pointer.

I got mine while it was on sale and if you use your google-fu you can get lucky and find a discount code. I too have a SP2022 in .40 courtesy of calgunner yzernie and the TLR1s is great. The strobe is cool feature and it holds really tight after you tighten it with a quarter.

My m3 didn't hold so tight I had to roll up tape to stuff between the grooves on my piccatiny rail so that sucked

Thanks people,
reason that I think I need Leaser with it too is that at night when it is all dark with the light only I don't think I can see the front sight to aim, When I went to trainning back in that days only has leaser sight,
the Sig I bought & wating ( 9 more days ) to pickup has only dot sight.

Surefire x300 or x400 if you have the cash buy once and cry once probably twice though especially when your just buying a light.

If you go with the steamlight though I would go with the M6X because atleast its mil-spec the M6 isn't. So basically the M6X is waterproof and more rugged and better quality overall. Optics planet doesn't sell the M6X the last time I checked. I bought an M6 back in 2004 and it was a good bright light 300 at the time but the quality of the beam is definitely not even close to the same ballpark as the surefire X300 or X400 beam quality. The beam in the M6 has lots of dark spots the M6 does however does claim a 30,000 round lamp guarantee I don't know if I believe it mine died after about 500 rounds of .45acp. I replaced the light lamp and it has worked ever since on my moms p229 9mm which I gave her for a birthday present. I hope this helps if you have the money to buy one of the best out of the box handguns on the market treat it with a surefire the best tactical lights I know of.

How it comes stock you can operate it either constant on or momentary on with your weak hand with a toggle type switch. I don't know if streamlight offers a tape switch I know surefire does and its called the X200.
