I have some photos posted in the Gallery of my new S&W Bodyguard 38.

Looks nice. A comparo between that and the LCR when you get the time would be cool. Is the laser an option? If so, do you have a price with and without laser? Thanks.

I dont believe its an option

The laser is not an option. It's built right into the bodyguard's design.

You're correct the laser is standard so far, but if these sell well you will see more models in the future. I was told by a S&W rep that it may become available without the laser and perhaps in a 6 shot 327 magnum, we'll see.
This afternoon my Bodyguard 380 came in so 2 guns in 2 days. I was really impressed by the Bodyguard 38 but the 380 blew me away, all I can say is WOW.
I bought a Ruger LCP when they first came out and found it to be uncomfortable if I shot more than say 4 mags thru it, it actually became painful during an extended range session. So I replaced it with the Kahr P380 which had not only better sights but was comfortable to shoot. This new Smith 380 blows both of them away as far as features and how it feels in your hand. Hopefully it will be as comfortable to shoot as the Kahr.

The Ruger LCR is a nice revolver that I'm very happy with. What I like better with the Bodyguard 38 is that it is smaller. The trigger pulls are very similar as are the sights. For holster carry there is no difference. Either one I feel would be a good choice but one thing I really like about S&W is their customer service. Should you ever need it they are the best in the industry. Now my new Bodyguard 380 will be perfect for really hot weather carry and fit neatly into a pants pocket. Smith & Wesson has hit a home run with these two pistols and if you're like me you'll want both.

Are you in CA? I'm guessing if so maybe you're LEO. I have just about given up hope that the BG380 is going to make it onto the roster.

Hope that the roster goes away entirely. Donating to CGF helps make that dream a reality. :)

I'm a retired LEO living in Illinois, our state is almost as restrictive as yours but not quite. I think you guys have a great forum so I enjoy visiting often.
