Finally got the wife to come along.

Finally got her out to the range with me today and she did fantastic!!!!!!! Carefully explained to her the "dos and donts" of range ettiquet, had her dry fire a few times and then loaded her up. Started her at 7 yds (indoor) and she did ok, but started having trouble hitting the target after a while, adjusted her aim and went crazy hitting the target really good. So good that we moved it out to 10 yds where she continued to hit the black and then out to 15 yds and she was hitting the 5 inch target about 1 out of every 2 shots with the .9mm. I was pretty damned impressed. This was her first time shooting a handgun, except for one time many moons ago. She enjoyed shooting the Glock 34 much more than the SA 1911 Mil .45 which she said felt heavy and made her arms tired...lol. She wanted no part of the .357 :D

Best part was when she told me how much more fun it was going shooting than she ever thought it could be. Haven't seen her smile that big a grin in a long time. She was like a kid with a new toy.

I think she may have just gotten bit by the bug. Sure hope so. Even planted the seed about her needing her own .9mm............i'm evil that way.

Good job. If she enjoys guns you will have one more hobby so you will be able to buy more without someone *****ing about it. MY g/f likes guns too and helped me clean my parts kits since she enjoys them. Well, less cleaning cosmo for me and keeps her happy.. :D

Yeah I made the same mistake some twenty odd years ago. Took wife to the range and she really enjoyed it. Now when ever I go she wants to go as well. I guess that is not a bad thing. She lets me buy most anything I want!!! :D As long as finances are there.

took my girlfriend out today and handed her the 10/22 and she put 500 rounds through it today!!
I handed her the 8mm mauser as short of a joke to myself and she started going crazy with the thing. she went off on a bowling pin and then was like "take a picture of what I did today" - ok honey

Ms. Rivet and I cruised out recently to find fal_762x51's spot in the desert. She has just started shooting in the last 3 months and prefers the free shooting in the desert instead of, as she puts it, "The freaks at the range!" Took THE BOSS to the range a few weeks back.... surprised the bejeezus out of me when she took the my 1911 and shot the tightest group I've ever seen, one handed. Then did a pretty sweet job with my buddy's .44 Mag Desert Eagle.... remind me to never piss her off!! :eek:
