questions on rust inhibition products

I noticed that Midway sells a number of rust-inhibiting items. Have any of you used them in your safe and, if so, what were the results?

sack-ups - I understand how they can reduces scratches, but how do they reduce rusting?

Bore-stores - are there any vapors that can damage optics?

Currently I'm using Allen rifle bags with damp-rid dessicant packets underneath the foam, but these are bulky and it is hard to fit several of these in my small safe.

Those Sack-ups are lightly treated with silicone oil, which helps prevent rust while not getting everything greasy feeling. I started using them on my long guns before I got a big safe, and they definitely prevented surface rust.

The Bore-store sounds similar but bulkier, but I haven't tried them.

Any oil-treated storage sack could cause some filming on optics, but Sack-ups are very lightly treated, and I haven't seen a problem with them yet.

I like to keep rubber bikini-style scope covers on my scopes, both to keep the glass well sealed from dust and moisture, and to provide a bit of padding while I'm handling them.
