View Full Version : Sig X6 or X5 in .40?
If you buy a SIG X5 here in CA, is it legal to get a X6 slide + barrel or a X5 slide + barrel in .40 for it?
If so, is anyone else interested in getting any of the above? I have a dealer ready to ship. Well, ready in the sense that they are willing to get them and ship them here, but SIGs current delivery time is months rather than weeks...
I don't know why I am getting the idea that this is in the wrong forum???

Changed ok to legal... does it make more sense now? ;)
I don't see why it wouldn't be legal, but there might be something I overlooked...

You of course are allowed to modify your handgun - after purchase. (Just as long as you don't do something illegal to it like full auto, smooth bore barrel, remove serial #s, etc.)
The gun dealer will have to sell you the Sig X5, etc. in CA-approved form.
If you later decide to sell the gun to/via a dealer, it must be in its approved form (if still on the approved list).
If you are gonna sell via PPT, then the gun can stay modified.
