How many rounds have been through your favorite handguns?

I have a few 44 mag guns that I know have 30,000 or more. My Kimber 45 is fun but I think I only have about 4,000 through it. No telling on my K22 but at about 500 a month average for 5 years it has to have 30,000 or so.

Oh.. I reload my own ammo. A box of 44 mag costs me about $4

Well that kinda blows the myth about alloy frames not lasting dont it. Great to hear as I only have about 4000 rounds fired out of mine.

25K + through one of my 4 inch Model 19s. 30K+ through my Python. Don't know how many thousand through a Colt Peacemaker .22, but I've fired a lot and got it second hand.

Lost track with some S&Ws I have. Guessing tens of thousands. Few thousand through Glocks.

When I decide to sell one though, it will only have 200 rounds through it :D

I just broke the trigger return spring on my CZ-75b. Probably 8k-10k rounds, but dry firing is not good for it, apparently.

Maybe my oldest 1911 has 15k-20k through it-the bbl doesn't lock up tight anymore either. Shotguns...25000 rounds in the last 6 or so years maybe, but that's spread out over 4 guns, mostly.

Yes, you can break a gun, but I have never worn one out...yet.

Yep. I was told a to expect a maximum of 20K but, after +25K, I broke a hammer (I think it was from shooting factory WWII MG ammo through it:43:) and sent it back to Kimber. They repaired a list of little things, replaced the night sites and sent it back to me for FREE! It's now better than new since, it's almost broken in now.

My dad bought a ruger p89 when they hit the shelves. My brother, sister, and mother all learned to shoot a semi-auto pistol with it. It went to the range everytime I would go along. It went to the range everytime I didn't go along. I bought it from my dad a few years ago. It goes with me everytime I have 9mm ammunition. I couldn't even guess how many rounds went through that barrel. It still shoots fine and I (and my dad) have never replaced a single part. And, that includes the 3 magazines it came with. (I replaced the sights and grips, but simply an upgrade, not a repair.) Have I mentioned the fact that I have never seen, or heard, that pistol have a failure to feed/extract/eject. To top it all off, my dad always kept at least one magazine loaded. I keep at least two. I just can't find a reason to dislike that pistol.

I have owned and abused quite a few 9mm semi-auto pistols in my unimpressive number of days, to include S&W, Glock, XD, Beretta and Browning just to name the big guys, but the Ruger P89 is my absolute favorite.

i have had my xd-9 since last September. i think the round count is around 1,000 so far......the only reason why i have fired it so little is because i have other guns that need to eat too......

Yeah, I did that to my CZ SP-01. :(

My favorite would be my RIA Tactical 1911. Around 3000 - 4000 rounds.

I've put about 1000 rounds through my Glock 19 in the past 3-4 months. I have another 2k rounds of 9mm ammo stocked up so I need to get out and shoot some more.

About 2K through my Kimber TLE/RL

Only 100 through my SA MCO

Just put 265 through my new G19 with another 250 going down this week. Looks like the G19 will get a LOT more range time than the other 2..... Just love it.

My CZ75B in Sa/Da. It has almost 80k thru the barrel so far :D. The only thing I had to replace(out of FUD) besides some recoil springs, mag springs, etc. is the slide release since I heard they can easily break after quite a few thousand rounds...

my SA 1911 Light weight Operator has about 5k of 45acp through it now, and about 4k of .22lr on the kimber conversion.

When I was at Frontsight not that long ago, they said that their rental XDs had about 80,000 rounds through them.

I once called Sig to ask about longevity of the alloy frame. They said they know of some that have 500,000 rounds through them.

I've seen stories of Glocks still working very well at 100,000 rounds through them.

I get the impression that very few of us will ever totally wear out our favorite pistol.

My most used pistol is my Ruger MkIII GC with a good 5000 rounds through it I'd guess. I don't shoot as much as a lot of people.

Can you post pics of the 44 magnums with 30K+ rounds through them? I like shooting the big magnums, but I can't imagine shooting more than 150 rounds of 44 mag loads in one day. I supposed I can if I was shooting my Desert Eagle. I would like to see underneath the front strap of that revolver, assuming it is a revolver, but we all know when we assume things.

Hey, I too bought the same exact model in blued finish last April and reached 1k rounds two weeks ago. Man that thing is accurate and reliable! Disassembly is hell though.

My current favorite handgun is a Walther P1, with only 200 rounds through the barrel.

jtroks.. I don't know how to post pics here. If you are talking about flame cutting on my revolvers tho then I can tell you that it is very minor in all my 44 guns You might be able to see a tiny bit of cutting on the blue superblackhawk but you would really have to look close. The stainless guns it is nothing at all really... I figure about 5,000,000 rounds to cut all the way through or.. about 4,980,000 more rounds than it would take to turn a desert eagle into scrap.

I don't fire all full power reloads.. the weakest is a 245 grain slug at 1200 fps and the most robust is a 290 at 1180 on my chrono.

And yes.. about 100 full power loads is comfortable.. I used to shoot a lot more in a session but now? seems 100 a session is about right.. sometimes a little more. It wears you out a little more from the bench. Out plinking I will often go through 4 boxes of mag loads and maybe a dozen jacketed reloads to help "pre clean" the bore. sometimes more but often... I am not the only person shooting my guns.. I have more 44's than most of my friends and ammo is cheap enough and plentiful enough that I let em shoot all they want.

Of course.. you wouldn't be able to shoot my loads through your DE and would have to shoot the 75 cents a round factory stuff.. you wouldn't get to shoot much but that would give you time to crawl around looking for your brass.

lazs, I thought you were learning from the past and doing alright. Why be condescending to the semi-auto guy now? I didn't see him say "your revolvers are crap." He was asking a question. No need for the attitude. You seem to be like an angry adolescent. 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
