View Full Version : I found the accidental Glock deal of the century.

I was calling around to some of my local shops to try and find the low price on a Glock 17. One of the shops had a sale going on, $75 off any new Glock or XD pistol. The store isn't allowed to quote me a price over the phone but he did say that it was "close" to $500. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I asked to make sure. "Do you mean you are taking $75 off of the $500 price tag?" "Yup."

I rushed down there as fast as I could. Sure enough, there was a Glock 17 in the case for $524. I pointed and said I want THAT one. A nice lady at the store was getting my paperwork squared away for a $449 brand new Glcok 17! Just then the store manager walks up and says "Why did you ring that up as $524? It's supposed to be $599." Apparently one of their employees mismarked the gun and never fixed the error. I told him that I really wanted the gun, but I didn't want to cheat anyone out of money. He said that the mistake wasn't my problem and that he would honor the sticker price. After a little prodding he assured me that he had no problem with it.

So I got it. $449+tax and DROS. I feel stoked/guilty/stoked.

:/ Sticker price is a bit high. Glock's should be low 500's w/o any special pricing. Enjoy the G17 :D

I don't know. Even on Bud's they are listed at $525-557. No shop I called in San Diego county had them for less than $549.

Don't quote me on this, but I swear Ironsights in Oceanside has them for 520'ish. Again don't quote me because I try not to window shop too much when I'm there... Everytime I do, I end up walking out with another gun.

Oh and not to say you didn't get a killer deal at 450 :) Just @ 599 sticker, hopefully they have the courtesy of giving you a reach-around.

Glocks have a high sticker price but real world prices are different (especially if you are LEO or a GSSF member). Nice deal anyhow.

Oh yeah, I totally agree on the $599 tag. I though you were referring to the $524 price. I would have walked away if they had bumped it up to $599. I wouldn't have been able to drive to Oside though. Screw that. I could buy a gun just with the gas money. :)

With a GSSF cupon you can. They can sell to whomever they like but they choose to be LEO snobs. I've been shopping there for years and they won't sell me a gun but I bought my body armor there.

Merkels in Santa Rosa has LEO pricing and sells to anybody who can buy a gun.

I'd never pay that much for a Glock. But, that's me. The only Glock I own, I paid $365 for. It is a slightly used G21. Even that was almost too much for me to pay for one.

Well I guess that counts me out. I'm a regular guy. My only claim to ninja status is that I can use my military ID instead of taking the handgun safety test. And even then, some shops give me trouble about it.

The only deal I've seen even close to that is a 37 .45 GAP for $370. Never found anything like that for a new Glock in San Diego.

If you are LE or possess a CA BSIS permit for exposed carry, you can go to LC Action in San Jose and pick up a BNIB Glock for $425 - $450 before taxes and such.

Just throwing that out there.

OP- Hate to do this to you, but a friend of a friend (So. Cal) got a woman pregnant and she told him- "NO guns in this house."

I bought his new, never fired Glock 17 for $250 unseen and it was shipped up to me immediately. Then sold it to my best friend in Utah for $300 in 2007.

I should still have the paperwork and check here as for proof if I am called on it. THAT was the Glock deal of the century. :D

Check out El Cajon Gun Exchange. Honestly their prices range from really good to not so great. But they do have some pretty good sales sometimes if you don't mind the atmosphere. They have a reputation for being kind of rude, but I never had a problem with anyone there.

You weren't ripped off, you got what you wanted when you wanted it. It's a good thing to support local businesses that have to pay rent and operating expenses. It may be a crime in the near future to make a profit but not yet!

True, depends on location. It's "San Diego"ish... just a bit North :) I guess it depends on your vehicle though. On the freeway I hit 30+ MPG [gotta love 2.0t's!].

Now I want to buy another Glock! or 1911 :(

Average price for Glock these day (NIB, in state, retail) goes for $500~600.

Thats a nice price for a NIB G17 purchased locally. You can get them everyday online for about $460-470. Comes out to about the same after all of the fees etc but without worrying about the out of state transfer.

If my stores had them locally for $450 I probably would have another one.

My local sells factory night sight Glocks for $499 all day. I still won't spend that much when I can get ANIB Glocks for less cost with no tax and no paperwork.

I think the deal of the century was the HK USPc9 stainless pistol I gave to a friend. He just had to pay dros.

Nope. Prices are subject to change at anytime. Now some stores have a policy that they will honor prices that are posted. Lucky's used to do that, but it's free if mis labled. Got a free bottle of booze that way back in the drinking days.

No qualifications that I know of. You can't shoot the GSSF matches with anything other than a Glock, but you don't have to own a Glock to join.

Glock deal of the century:
A buddy of mine had a Glock 19 and a Taurus PT92. Owned them for about a year. Found God and decided he didnt need guns anymore. Sold them both for $100. When he told me I almost slapped him for not offering it to me first.
