View Full Version : Celebrate McDonald with CGF and Don Kilmer - Monday, 6/28 6:00pm (Izzy's San Carlos)

All,

On Monday, June 28, 2010, the United States Supreme Court will announce its decision in McDonald v. Chicago. As you're likely very aware, a McDonald win in this historic case will incorporate the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution against the states and local governments through the Fourteenth Amendment.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, the unyielding commitment and incredible sacrifices made by the plaintiffs and counsels Mr. Alan Gura and Mr. David G. Sigale, I'd like to cordially invite you to join me, Gene Hoffman and other CGF Board Members and officers at Izzy's Steaks and Chops in San Carlos on Monday from 6:00-10:00pm.

Also attending the dinner celebration will be the esteemed Mr. Donald Kilmer, lead counsel in Nordyke v. King and co-counsel in many Calguns Foundation actions.

Izzy's "wine room" can accommodate up to 48 guests, and the adjacent dining areas have proven to be more than comfortable for anyone unable to be seated prior to the banquet room reaching capacity.

Please find below information on the location and contact information to Izzy's Steaks and Chops. We look forward to seeing you there.

-Brandon

Will it be ok to bring a kid?

If it is anything like the Nordyke dinner it will be fine. Might not be a great idea to take them to the bar at 4:30 but the dining room is plenty kid friendly. I'll be bringing at least one of mine for the first hour or two until my wife comes by.

We're a pretty family friendly group - especially these more casual celebration dinners. I am also personally proud of the diversity we get at these.

Expect steak, good wine/scotch, and lots of conversations about the decision from that morning and its implications on go forward strategies.

My folks are moving back to they Bay Area tomorrow after 7 years in Arizona. Specifically, they'll be staying in Belmont, which is about a 5 minute drive to Izzy's.

The substance of this anecdote being: my dad got me into firearms just over a year ago when I was visiting him in Arizona. I don't think he knows about the McDonald decision coming down tomorrow, so hopefully he won't be too tired to come to Izzy's and celebrate + meet some Calgunners.

We're definitely no Arizona, but hopefully tomorrow will be good headway. I know he's not happy about having to leave his SKS behind (it has the useless grenade launcher, making it a CA assault weapon).
