I need to ship a few M1 Garands and need some cardboard shipping boxes to ship them through UPS.

In a perfect world, I would use some CMP boxes. But assuming I can't get my hands on any, does anyone know of a commonly available box that I can use to ship an M1? I could disasemble the M1 into it's 3 components if that would be helpful.

TIA

www.uline.com for any box of any size. Some have minimums though.

A local gun store?

You could probably find a box at a UPS store, or a driveline/axle shop (or any place that sells those type of things - like 4wheelparts, etc.)

you can try a local gun store to see if they have any extra boxes they can spare or a big5 since they carry gun cases and they usually come in long boxes.

I've had great success raiding the cardboard dumpster behind a couple stores in town. A few minutes work renders something "close." Then I cut it/mod it to size and tape it up. The box needs to be sturdy, with the contents well bubble-wrapped, but the CMP box is really overkill. It's too nice and too big to ship cost effectively.

Guitar Center throws out a lot of electrice guitar boxes that would be perfect if you added padding/bubble wrap/etc.
Ask for the warehouse when you call, they'll save you a couple.

Most big towns have a store that sells boxes and moving supplies. If the box that they have isn't long enough I just cut and tape two boxes together.

I just go into one of the local gun shops and ask. They usually have extras they would give out for free.
