What are you going to use it for? CCW, range use, training, duty?

It will be range used and training

i think specifying what you are looking for would be better. range use can mean many things. the two i can think of are self defense/ tactical duty holster, or compition style like IPSC/ IDPA

A gun that nice has to be in some quality leather (exotic or otherwise)!

For range or competition: Comp-tac

If you want something with retention: Safariland

Everyday carry: Go for some custom leather hide

I looked on line. I leaned to Milt Spark

I highly recommend milt sparks. If you want a setup, try to order in the next couple of days.

Yep, the 3 best have been mentioned so far.

Comptac for Kydex, Safariland for tacticool, and Milt Sparks for leather.

Silent Thunder from Tucker Gun Leather. Kydex exterior with leather lining. Best of both worlds. I have one for my Smith 1911.

Just called them. 55BNHS with shark trim (fbi cant) ; shark magpouch; belt.
They quote for 7 months waiting  I can get it until next year :TFH:

Technically, if you order another PRO, it should arrive before your new Springfield. :D

I'm thinking about one from this company.

I believe this is the same one Old4eyes is talking about. Leather lined Kydex. I have one for my HK and one for my wheelgun. It doesn't wear the finish nearly as much with the smooth leather. Easy and fast removal for IDPA. My buddy had one for his Kimber and his slide shows almost zero wear.

I got a setup in sharkskin but I just ordered another without it. It sounds silly but the fact that the holster leather doesn't match the belt leather or the mag leather bothered me. I should have my setup in 7 months too. But Milt Sparks and a Professional sound like a lovely combination.

Kodemonkey, the silent thunder is idpa approved, correct? I'm searching for a holster for my SA Loaded and that seems like the perfect holster for me. If it is idpa approved I'm buying it

Kodemonkey is correct when he points out Garrett Industries for the Silent Thunder, they make it, Tucker Leather is a re-seller.

Is it Legal for IDPA? I know they make a model for IDPA, the Champion, but I don't know if the "regular" Silent Thunder is approved.

Here's the Tucker link:

I noticed on the Tucker Leather website that it says the forward cocking serrations might rip up the leather in the holster, have you seen or experienced this problem?
