Saiga mags will not work in a regular AK. You can find 10 round Tapco mags here (hey, they're not promag!) :D http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-549/TAPCO-AK47-10RD-MAGAZINE/Detail

I use 10/10 promag magazines, i have a hard time finding anyone else that has or makes them other than promag, but i haven't had any issues at all with it.

Not sure if Saiga magazines fit an AK, though, someone else can help you on that one.

Search around on gunbroker for metal Chinese 5 round mags, they can be had super cheap. They convert to 10 rounds buy cutting the legs off of the followers.

I've been using 10 round saiga mags in my converted saiga with a bullet guide installed for about 6 months now without any problems. From what i can tell, the bullet guide that is on the mag is level with the bullet guide that I installed, and it just acts like an extension of it.

You can also keep on the lookout for 5rd chinese double stack mags.
These can be converted to 10rders w/ TAPCO +5 followers (or a knife to shorten the existing followers legs).

K-var sells Bulgarian waffle pattern 10 round magazines. They're high quality, but expensive.

I've ordered various mags from them over the past year.

Like others have mentioned, there are 5 rd mags that can be modified to take 10 rds, by replacing the follower with one from Tapco, or cut down the one in the 5 rd mag.

There are steel Chinese ones and KVAR sells Bulgarian 5/10 rd mags.

Yes Saiga mags will work in AK's. They are tight and you might have to take a little from the front of the mag to clear the feed ramp.

Wow I'm surprised you didn't just call me up Hellraiser.

Saiga mags should be easiest to find since most Saiga owners scrap their 10rd mags after doing conversions. The front part of the mag needs to be filed down to fit underneath the bullet guide, but since the mags are plastic, that won't take you very long to do.
