View Full Version : Sling for a 6.5 Grendel deer rifle

I have a 6.5 Grendel that has a 20" medium heavy barrel that I am going to use for deer season this year. I currently have a Vtac padded 2 point sling (Larue version with QD swivels).

I am wondering how this is going to work while using my backpack while I am walking through the woods.

(1). Does anyone make a chest harness that works with a single point sling?

I will be carrying the rifle for many hours and don't want it rubbing on my neck.

I have a Magpul CRT with a built in QD sling swivel cup and a Troy single point sling adaptor that attaches to the buffer tube at the rear of the receiver and I have a QD swivel cup pocket that is attached to my Vtac hand guard.

(2). What are my best options?

Ok...I think I found what I was looking for. It is a single point sling that attaches to a pack or a chest harness in two places.

What I need now is a thin chest harness that will allow me to attach this sling and still fit under backpack straps.

Anyone have any ideas?
