What is the smallest, (reliable) 45 acp auto pistol readily available in Ca? Mag cap isn't a concern, just the ability to conceal is.

Glock 36 or Kahr PM45?

Fits in the palm of your hand and holds 10 rounds of ACP

But are any of those, with maybe the exception of the glock really shootable? Egos aside, that recoil has got to hurt & make double taps next to impossible.

My AMT backup .45 is small, concealable and reasonable accurate...

Thanks for the info. Now I have some leads to follow.

In addition to smallest I would also look for weight. Alot of the 3" 1911s listed are alloy framed and that helps quite a bit.

The AMT is, I think, about the smallest but of course not on the roster. And it is all steel. I like Detonics (again, not on the list) because it has a short grip - shorter than the typical 3" 1911s. The Warthog/P10 is even shorter but of course it's a double stack and wide as hell.

I'm kind of hoping someone comes out with a single stack, 3" barrelled alloy framed 1911 with the Detonics sized grip. A 3" barrelled 24 oz 45 that's only about 4" top to bottom would be quite the gun.

I think the liberator is the smallest 45 pistol.

I like my Glock 36. It is pretty light and the recoil is not bad considering how light it is. Double taps are not a problem at all for me. I carry mine every day since it is my primary ccw gun. I am thin, 5'10" and 135lbs and it dissapears on me.

I think the liberator is the smallest 45 pistol.

I don't think that is readily available as the OP asked.

Sarco has them! I know they aren't on the list though. -Ben

i like my para - small, but solid, recoil is surprisingly light considering the size, and pretty accurate too. mine's actually the LDA model, but very similar looking and in size.

Kahr P45 - small, light weight and kicks a bit, gives a mellon size spread - easy to conceal
Kimber Ultra CDP - a bit larger and heavier, gives a tangerine size spread - harder to conceal
Yet, an S&W airweight revolver in 357 always goes bang!

funny thing is, I out eat most of my friends. Unfortunatly I have GI tract issues from a chronic disease so no mater what or how much I eat I don't gain a pound. The most weight I have put on recently is the 2 pounds or so from my glock 36, spare magazine and holster that I now carry since I got my CCW permit last month lol

+1! I had one, but dint shot it as much! very managable recoil but I perfer shooting my full size.

That Para looks pretty small. Otherwise, I would say maybe the 3" Kimber comes to mind, or the Sig P245.

You could look into the G30 with a flush mag, or a G36.

I'm partial to the Glock 36 as I'm proficient with a Glock 21. It's just nice to know all of the options available.

Para is too small for me. I have a Kahr 45 in jail.
