I am looking to get deer tags for whichever zones are availabe in Northern California. I am a teacher so I am off work now. If anyone else wants to go on a hunting trip soon please PM me or post up a message.

I am available anytime and would like to go with someone who has hunted deer or pigs as I have not done so yet. I am itching to head out and most people who have "real jobs" don't have the time now. Let me know! :cool2:

I thought deer season doesn't start until August or September?

The season starts when you go back to school, I'm pretty sure.

assuming you're thinking a B or a D zone, archery or rifle. B/D=archery open 8/21-9/12, rifle 9/18-3rd or 4th weekend of Oct(a few different closing dates for the B/D zones).

get a bear tag, lots of bears in those B zones.

A zone (north) 10-Jul-10 - 01-Aug-10 14-Aug-10 - 26-Sep-10 He can go the entire archery season before school's back in. I have an AO tag I could use there, I just don't know if I'll get to it during the archery only dates. If I do, you're welcome along!

Reminds me of my first hunt when I was 14. Get up at 5am on opening day. Get out to the spot we had scouted previously so when the su came up we'd be ready for the buck. Sun comes up and on schedule the buck steps out. I get him in my sights and as I'm about to squeeze off some *****hole squirrel hunter steps around a bush into my range of fire. The buck runs off.

ya, all the yotes I've arrowed have been during archery deer season.... I tend to get a little mad at people blasting song dogs during rifle season, though.... well, unless I'm the one doing the blasting, lmao.

Well I used to hunt the Redding area a long time ago. Its been about 7-8 years since I have gone on a deer or pig hunt. Although during turkey season I saw a lot of bucks in the tehema area. Most likely they will not be there durring deer season. Any idea on what zone you were going to hunt?
