OK...Here's the question:

Can a Sig 556 "Pistol" legally accept a greater than 10 round magazine if the "pistol grip" is removed?

No. A 556 would require a maglock and thus wouldnt be legal with any mag that holds more than 10 rounds. I believe you would be hard pressed to set a legal precedent that because you removed the pistol grip, the magwell has now become the "pistol grip".

In case you don't know any pistol that houses the magazine outside the pistol grip requires a maglock, thus the restrictions on AK and AR pistols.

+1 Get a raddlock and back out the screw when you take it out of state and run your Pre-Ban Mags
