Stumbled upon this while searching for billet uppers. Anyone have any experience with these? I know it's 6 series aluminum instead of the standard 7 series that forged uppers are. Looks to be parked instead of anodized. For the price it seems to good to be true for what it is.

That'll be a first;). It's not possible to parkerize aluminum...so it's either coated or anodized.

eta...your link states it's anodized

It says "Black Anodized Finish" at the end of the description.

I like the way it looks, but don't know anything else about it...

You wonder why it's being sold by Centerfire Systems.

They're about like CheaperThanDirt...

"MACHINED FROM BILLET FOR MAXIMUM STRENGTH AND ACCURACY

Manufactured by TNW, this stripped receiver has been CNC machined from solid 6061 T6 aluminum billet to produce an AR-15 upper of outstanding strength and stability. Extra metal adds rigidity, making it the perfect platform for a hard-running tactical rifle or a heavy duty, match-grade gun. All holes, inletting, and pin locations have been machined to final dimensions. Add the bolt, carrier, fire-control system, and internal components of your choice to build the perfect custom rifle for your application.

Flattop Upper includes case deflector and opening for forward assist, plus picatinny accessory rail.

Black Anodized Finish"

That's the understatement for today. Lower than Tapco.

I saw a stripped one Friday. It looked pretty good in person, but I didn't see any parts installed on it, so I can't talk about fit.
Due to the extra material left on, it won't fit a Magpul BAD lever without a bit of adjusting.

I picked up a TNW upper in late Nov 2012 and the build is good. It matches up to Quentin Defense billet lowers perfectly.

Mine had some extra machining marks above the brass deflector and around the cam pin rotation area (on the outside). Minor - filled with durafil and then Cerakoated.

The rifle looks awesome put together. Not sure where you can find TNW uppers anymore. Centerfire no longer has them on the website.
