I haven't seen too many around, just wondering if it would work mechanically

I have done that before. My gas block had a pic rail on it to mount irons on....it fit fine.

would having flip up front sights be considered low profile?

if so, my 16 inch sabre defence barrel is flossin the moe handguards (which are my personal favs) everybody has quad rails..whatever, to each his own

coming soon are the moe handguards for mid-length gas system rifles..

First, DONT mount an MBUS to a gas block, unless you like melting MBUS's.

Second, the MOE handguards will be compatible with any upper that has a round handguard end cap, regardless of the gas block.
