I was just wondering sincethey make ar in basically any modern caliber... I wonder why they don't make a 44mag upper?? It'll be awsome to have a .44 mag in a rifle! Haha..

Still wouldn't be better than 223 though.

Very few semi autos work well with rimmed cartridges.

the Bren gun and PSL, AVT and SVT seem to work fine!

Haha, from the reviews seems like the 9 and the 40 cal are working pretty good. I guess I want a 44 because I have tons of em laying around with no gun to fire them. Lol

Tony Rumore made an upper in 44 mag.
The main issue is that rimmed cartridges don't feed well from straight magazines.
The AR magwell does not work well with curved magazines.

So does the Conan but, that doesn't mean that it would be easy to design a box mag fed upper for an AR platform. However, it would be very easy to make a single shot bolt action upper or possibly a belt fed upper in 44 mag.

50ae is easier.
It's rimless and feeds from M1 carbine mags.
