Question about form: FD 4544A: Report of operation of law or intra familial handgun transaction.

http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/forms/pdf/oplaw.pdf

Under owner information do I put the person who already owns the weapon or do I input my information? How do they know that I am taking possession of the handgun when there is no place for my information?

If anyone could give me a hand filling it out, that would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to take possession of a handgun from my mother.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Under "Owner Information" you put the information of the person who has taken possession of the weapon. In this case, your info. You then put who you acquired it from under "Handgun Information".

I did one of these. You are the owner. In Box B you note who you got it from.

I just noticed that you can transfer more than one per form for $19. When I filled it out it was $15 per gun. THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!

It takes about 1-2 months to process.

Whoa thanks!

Will I receive a letter confirming the transfer?

Thanks again,

Jonathan!
