It's a nice rifle but isn't 600rds a bit much to say it had little use? I personally wouldn't buy a firearm from another country just to avoid any issues and extra fee's. I mean if it's saving you a ton of $ than maybe its worth it but you always have to remember that if the deal goes bad, dealing with someone over sea's isn't going to be easy. So I would personally stay away from payment types that won't back protect your payment (ex. money order). Good luck though and post a range report if you get it! :)

I'd be buying it to keep in Ireland so transfer fees aren't an issue

600 rounds is nothing for a .308

600 rounds in a 6.5-284 is a different story

What are the gun laws in Ireland? I thought just about everywhere in Europe you would be out of luck with an AR. I'm glad this isn't the case.

Its an Accuracy International Rifle - AI ... not an AR !!
AI rifles are THE gun to have for long range shooting. A couple buddies of mine got them in 338 Lapua Mag topped with a S&B 5x25 scope. They were hitting basketball sized targets out at 1500 meters !!!!!!

AR-type rifles are considered 'restricted' in Ireland. They're not banned, but you can't walk off the street and buy one either. You need to have a few good years' of firearms ownership before you'll get a license.

Most countries in Europe will allow ARs with the right license.

Compared to US prices, the figure is about right.

Used AE Mk1 with 1.0 stock: $2300
Nightforce scope: $1200
Bipod: $100
Rings: $100

So really you are just getting a free moderator. For all I know, those components could be a lot more expensive in Euroland due to VAT tax and whatnot so it might be a steal. But all I'm saying is, you could buy pretty much the same thing over here and not have to fly overseas to shoot it.

Theres a few guys that have the remington R15 for foxing back home.
Gun law wise in Ireland Manic its correct theres two classes, restricted and unrestricted
Unrestricted is any rifle up to a 30 cal bolt action.
You can have semi auto for rimfire only.
Pistol wise, they only allow spendy olympic style target pistols.

Everything else is restricted, so you need to show good cause to get a Firearms Certificate for say an AR or 338 bolt action or CF pistol.

One can legally buy a Steyr AUG, G-36 or Tavor in Ireland... Rare, granted, but can be done. Can you do that in Cali?

agreed...
Rem M700- pick one > $1k
AI 1.5 $900
NF NXS $1.5k
Everything else > $500
in fact you can have a similar set up for less....

True, its worse than here, but just about all gun laws outside of the USA universally suck.
At least there is a legal method as Manic said to license anything you can prove a need for
