Ok so long story short I need to replace the front and rear sights on my RIA officers model, which has GI type sight cuts. Ideally Id like to get adjustable sights, but to be honest any sort of 3 dot sight will do. I'm not looking for glow in the dark trijicon's or anything special, just a good, inexpensive set of sights that fit GI (70 series?) type sight cuts.

Anyone have any ideas?

bo-mar use to make the adjustable sights, then its champion, then they rename and become kensight.

take your pick..

if you want snag free, fast target aqu, than heinie would be my recommendation.

if you perfer 3 dot snag free, than novak is a popular choice.

the problem is that with either choices, you might have to cut a dovetail for the front sight. i think the RIA front is stake in.

once you figure out what you want, you can get them from midway, brownell, etc.

Millet makes an adjustable rear for your groove. They also make a stake on front that will work. A word of warning...don't get the double stake on front, if you ever want to mill a dovetail for a new front sight, the second hole makes it ugly.

Not only would I have to cut a front sight slot, but also get the rear re cut for most of those. Almost all are specific cuts (Novak, heinie, bomar, etc...) and those that fit a colt are normally wide tenon if they are tenon at all. Thanks, but no dice.

Oh Ive seen those i wish they were still for sale! Brownells doesn't have them anymore since Millet discontinued their pistol sights. A quick search of their current catalog doesn't even have "1911" in it. Sad as these are damn near exactly what I'm looking for.
