Thanks. I forgot to put the model in the post, didn't mean to start a guessing game, but hey - you won!

That is in GREAT shape...got to love a good dependable ol' sixgun.Reminds me of the rules,as dear old Dad laid them out, all those years ago... DA sixgun = S&W, auto = Colt.

That gun...

It is DEAD SEXY. I think it can compete against buxom blondes and brunettes even.

I really like this gun. I've only shot it once. The action was smooth as hell, but HEAVY. The recessed cylinders on the old guns are a really nice touch. I can't place my finger on what exactly it is, but it just makes the gun feel "nicer." The only gun that do that to anymore are the .22 revolvers.

you should polich up that hammer and make it shine.

c good

Don't touch that hammer! Case hardened hammer and trigger is original and perfect. That is a beautiful Model 19. All of mine love plated, 158gr. .38 special. Don't push any magnum loads through these with less than 158 gr. bullets. The 125 gr Magnum loads a especially hard on these in the long run. Congrats. c good

So, if a good-looking gal was shooting that pretty revolver, would that make it a double positive? Lol...

I'm not sure why someone would polish a case hardened hammer, but to each their own.

Thanks again for all the compliments. I figured I overpaid a little, but I guess not!

There's only one thing prettier than a Model 19....

More of 'em!

The 2.5" has to be one of the sexiest wheelguns I've ever seen. It's a 19-4

My 4-inch 19-5 is a sweet shooter.

My 3rd 19-4 - a real oddity. A 6" barrel with a round butt frame.

...to the OP, beautiful M19!! I just got my first (19-4, nickle finish, Black Majik knows which one it is) out of jail, IMO the best looking gun S&W ever made.

Whew! Beautiful blue, beautiful wooden stocks. I love my M66-6 with the black Hogue grips, as it points more naturally for me than anything save my finger, but for sheer beauty it's hard to top blued steel and wooden grips.

If you had ivory stocks on it, I'd be liable to short out my iPhone drooling all over it...... :D

To those asking what I paid, it was in a consignment rack at $495. I promptly offered $450 I promptly got rejected. I promptly paid the $495, and was promptly happy about it.

Very nice revolver. A nice 4 inch .357 has been on my list for quite a while and I'm sure I will come across one eventually.

You did great on the price. I paid $450 for my 19-4 and it shows some wear that your's doesn't. Nice score on a beautiful piece! Enjoy!

My first 19 was a dash 4. Save for the grips on mine being several shades darker yours brings back the memories of how it looked when I bought it new. There's a lot of road on mine now, and I hope that one brings the OP as much as satisfaction mine has.

And welcome to the S&W revolver disease support group.... :D

Great looking great gun. My favorite revolver. Now you need to buy another for shooting and keep that in the safe for looking at.
