Image below is the follower of the mag that came with the pistol. The dimple is perfect round:

Image below is the follower of the mag bought from SA store. The dimple is broken in the middle:

Is this normal? Thoughts? Thanks

Not normal. Call SA customer service and request an RA.

^^^Could be a new design tweak? All four I received are the same. I'll call them tomorrow.

There is also a crease across the follower that appears to be right in line with the defect in that dimple.. like some press operation was botched during manufacture.

I know what is the function of a dimple originally designed for, but I have a lot of 1911 mags without dimples, they all good, no FTF.

maybe they are using a harder metal? i dunno, the original looks like it would work better to me.

I called the SA Customer Department and told me that they cannot tell for sure if that is a defect or a design tweak. They told me that their supplier back their products. Also they want me to test it and if it doesn't work they will change it. Who supplies SA? Is it Metal Form?

Could this be a design improvement for "control-feed"?

I contacted them and forwarded the photos. They told me it's not from them since it doesn't have the metalform logo at the base. I presume these are from another supplier or an SA built magazines.
