If any of you are going rabbit hunting. I saw a spitload of cottontails at Camp Cady last weekend.

According to the guy I spoke to. They have two areas. One at the bottom of the Mojave river bed on your right. Look for the sign in kiosk and hunt by the circular overhead watering line and at Camp Cady itself.

All you got to do is park and fill out the white card and go hunt. No fee's.

Warm? We both live in the desert. Hunt morning and evening and hide out in the shade during the heat peak. Lots of trees and shade up there.

Thanks PCH, I didn't know about that.

So why does the State set the season for summer?

I have no idea why.

The same reason deer season around here is early fall - politicians in DFG

Is it safe to eat the rabbits you get during the summer?

Yes as long as you inspect them very carefully.

What PCH said - when you skin 'em wear gloves - look for larvae esoecially around the neck, look at the liver etc. If you see anything that don't look right dump the carcass.

Hmmm, Maybe I'll just go Jack shooting instead.

Thanks to all of you who answered my ignorant questions. I appreciate it.
