Found a HK USPc (includes 7 mags, holster, and hk bag) for sale for a good price of $550.

Unfortunately, it has 4500 rounds through the pipe.

Good deal or walk away?

Thanks!

After a while you'll realize 4500 rounds is a walk in the park.

Do you know the date code? Some people put alot of rounds through in a very short time. so even with the round count theres no way to tell how old it is or the condition of the barrel. personally i do 1000 rounds in 6-8 months.

things to look for, make sure the crowning on the tip of the barrel is not damaged, no broken C clips holding the recoil spring to the guide rod, and make sure the frame is in good condition.

all in all it sounds like a good deal. for some reasons HK's are not holding value right now so take advantage of the great price and buy yourself one of the best pistols on the market.

4500 rounds is barely the break-in. ;)

So, it's basically a new gun being sold by someone who can count past 200. I wish I could tell you how many rounds were through most of my guns but, I can't keep track of all of them. Apparently, the seller is OCD enough to have counted. I'd guess that he was also OCD enough to keep it well maintained. Now, why did you have reservations about it?

4500? eesh.. that's about.. 3-4 months of shooting.. that gun should easily last over 100,000 rounds.. it's barely broken in.. get it.. in fact, it might shoot better now than it did when "new".

4500 is nothing. The gun isn't going to suddenly break in half at 10000 rounds. You can easily expect 50k rounds through the gun with only minor parts replacement.

4500 rounds really isn't much you will probably go 50,000 rounds + before you experience your first breakage which will probably be something minor like a trigger pin or spring or something. so yeah you are 1/11th of your way through a regular service length on it. Hell I'd go so far as to say that that gun is just broken in. that is just enough metal on metal time to let all the surfaces mate up really well with one another....

I would compare buying a gun with 4500 rounds to buying a car with 9000 miles on it, its still a baby. and of course replacing anything on a car costs more than buying a whole new gun.

BUY IT!

4,500 rounds through an HK is like 4,500 miles on a car.

mags alone is worth half the price

I have a USP with approximately 4K-5K rounds through it and it has slight wear marks. I saw a used USP at a local shop that said it had 500-800 through it  but it looked like it had 15K+ through it. Unless the previous owner never oiled his gun, they were lying through their teeth.

4500 may be a significant number for some mouse gun POS, but not an HK. I know glawcks and and AR's as well as other mainstream guns go over 100k rounds before some parts need to be changed.

If he did 4,500 rounds in one day, yes I would be worried. Where is it btw? :whistling:

I say give the seller a low counteroffer. HK45 and P30 are going through 50,000 round torture tests right now. You should have plenty of mileage left.

USP are actually holding value alot of us are using freestate prices to sell them remember they don't really cost the 1000 dollars I've seen them new in stores
