...if the seller is NOT an FFL?
How can it be done?
I have a private party in MI that I want to buy from.
Could my FFL take ownership of it then sell it to me?

1.) Yes, seller does not need an FFL - he ships to your FFL. Not
all FFLs, however, want to receive guns from non-FFLs - it's their
business choice.

2.) The handgun - unless an exempt dimensionally-compliant
single-action revolver or single-shot pistol per 12133PC - must
be on the Roster of Approved Handguns, or you cannot take
possession of it. [Exceptions are C&R handguns, certain lineal
intrafamily transfers of handguns or inherited/bequeathed
handguns.]

Be SURE the gun you're acquiring is *exactly* on the Roster
otherwise you've wasted everybody's time.
