My dad headed out yesterday and caught 6 catfish weighing a total of 21 pounds. Two were over 7 pounds. Missed many more.

Who wants to head out there?

We can do an early morning hunt and do a mid day fishing trip.

If you have never fished there you have to try it. The quality of the fish and the fish is well worth the drive. If you hook into a striper it gets real fun really fast. I have seen some whoppers come out of there. My largest was 24 pounds.

I just said no hunting license because you said it would be a morning hunt mid day fishing thing. Depending on when you go I might be interested.

I could I guess. How much notice would everyone need?

I went there yesterday but arrived late. My dad and nephews already had 4 cat and 3 stripers. Nothing they had was under 4 pounds. I did not have a chance to ge my line wet since they were packing up when I got there but I will hit it up today on my way home again and get there 2 hours earlier.

Easy way would be to pick a date and announce it. Those that can will and afterwords. Those that didn't will hear the stories and regret not going and make sure to make the next one. :D

I refuse to fish anymore. (Worked on a commercial boat in Alaska. I hate F'n fish!) But if free I'll show up just to enjoy the event.

I've been fishing the duct from the 14 to the 5 in the AV for about 5 months and just recently have been getting some decent stripers. usually fish lures though. I'm down to meet and fish the duct. let's do it.

What time do you have the most luck. I usually have the best luck in the PM. If anyone has a lantern to bring that would be great.

I fished it last night and caught 6 Catfish and all were on the smaller side this time around 4 pounds. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the leaches on their catches?

My nephew caught a striper.

What you have to look forward to. these are not my pics.

Do you need a stripper stamp to take strippers for the aquaduct? It's been a long time since I've fished for strippers or fished the aquaduct. So, besides a California fishing license, what else would I need?

Just a 6 pack of beer and a positive attitude is all you need on top of a license. If you want to add a second rod stamp for the aqueduct it is valid for that body of water if you choose to.

I always thought that I was required by law to have a bottle of bourbon with me while fishing. Well, that and an air matress in back of my truck.

Hey, is there anywhere around here to water ski in the aquaduct? Y'all know how ta do dat, raaght? Alls ya need is water skis, a rope and a pickem up truck. Got da picture?

I fish between #12 and #13.

I think it is a typo that a 50# 2 ounce bass was caught at Castaic. I think they meant Striper/Wiper.

They need to update their flyer. It doesn't go far enough south. There's several miles of the aqueduct that is legal fishing area in Phelan, Victorville, and Hesperia.

As far as I know the whole thing is legal to fish. On the map it just shows the easiest access points. I talk to the maintenance guys all the time and they say you can fish everywhere unless posted.

There are some sections where they have control gates and buildings that are closed to entry because of vandalism problems. The section in Phelan north of Baldy Mesa Rd. to the next road is one. Also the section on the east side of I-15 is closed.
