Can anyone recommend a good voice recorder for lectures?

I need something that will pick up a speaker at the front of a lecture hall from 20-40ft away. Something with a USB port would be most handy so I can dump the lectures on to my computer and phone to listen to while not in class. It would also need to be able to record at least 4 hours of lecture at a time.

These things aren't exactly hot commodities these days so it seems like there's a lot of cheap, crappy ones on the market and reviews from decent magazines are impossible to find.

Any Olympus with the features you need will be a good choice.

The Olympus DS-40 is a very capable unit, great audio, MP3 format, easy to dump to a PC via USB.
