Is there also a sale on the drill jig along with a 80% lower? Perhaps a combo deal?

how much for the jig for the 308

Nathan Krynn
06-16-2010, 5:40 AM
If you buy five then yes I will extend the $5 off so five 80% AR-15's would be $350 + shipping which is typically $12.

As for a jig combo we allready have that on sale on the website. It is one 80% and the jig for $195. That is already discounted from $205.

The .308 jig by itself is $150.

Remember the discount for the $5 off the 80%'s is phone order only.

What kind of aluminum are you using on this?

Nathan Krynn

The AR-15 are 7075 forgings like our stripped lowers.

The .308's are 6061 billet as we found 7075 was too brittle on high stress situations (full auto) with the .308 recoil pulse. Yes I know you can't make a new full auto weapon, but we can so it needed that option

I bought from Nathan a month or so back, and the service at Tactical Machining is stellar! Their forum is starting up, but a lot of good info. They have the most complete 80% I've seen. Fire Control Group, Hammer pin hole and Trigger pin hole is all that's needed. Their JIG is spot on, but if you are new at machining, order an extra TM 1001 - it's the first plate you use. I did two on a drill press with milling vice and the other three (I ordered the five pack) I'll finish on a mill I'm ordering soon.

Welcome to Kalifornia, Nathan!

The master kit is all ready heavily discounted ($48) and as much as I would like to I can't discount the jig kits further.

what specs are your .308 lowers to? Dpms or armalite? Do you guys have a special for the 5 pack of lowers with the jigs?

Our .308 lowers are designed to work with DPMS.

No we do not have a 5 pack and jig special, however the $25 you will get off for being calguns will cover 20% off the jig.

Remember that you have to call in the order and mention you are a calguns member and provide me your screen name.

Sounds great . . . how's does this work? I don't have a mill, but have an old, old drill press . . . will it work?

Please keep me posted!! Please forgive if I was getting off topic . . . bump for a great deal!

Nathan Krynn

You can use a drill press. It takes longer and you need to be extra careful. However a ton of people have completed 80%'s on this forum with a drill press.

Sounds good lets see if we get anymore interest. I think if we had one of these it would make it easier-->http://www.micromark.com/RS/SR/Product/82389_R.jpg

How much for an extra TM 1001 piece?

Nathan Krynn
06-30-2010, 1:24 PM
Yes a mini-mill makes your life easy, I all ways suggest using a mill of sort as you can use X and Y axis.

The top plates are $20 plus shipping.

.308 does sound nice....

Nathan Krynn

I would say no to our jig working with Sun Devil's lowers. Our jig is made to be used on mil-spec lowers like ours. There's is from a billet and I have never seen an 80% from billet that was mil-spec (I could be wrong though). If the sides are not the exact same as a mil-spec lower then the side plates will not lock in, and all the billet lowers I have seen the tower is not quite right so the master plate would need to be modified. In the end though I have not tested it so I truly can not be certain unless I tried.

Shipping is normally $12, unless it is a large order.

I can not say when the sale will end but I would advise getting them soon.

Yes .308's are awesome. We were out this weekend hosting a fund raiser for our local shooting range to raise money for new popers for the new rifle lanes. We made a .308 with a 20" match barrel and threw one of our suppressors on it with my vx3l 6.5x-20x, bipod, mono pod, prs stock, and we were shooting a car at 300+ yards. We also killed some wood yard ornaments from the 1950's we found. It was fun.

As some of you know our determination letter was changed by the BATFE to conform with other companies this week. We can not drill out the selector hole anymore. We were allowed to sell off our back stock (which we never have much of) and it is perfectly fine for those who have our 80%'s right now with the selector hole drilled.

We just got the letter this week and have been very busy figuring out what we will do about it. We all ready started machining new ones without the selector hole and are making hardened steel bushings (like the trigger and hammer pin ones we make all ready) for our jigs. We will be modifying our jigs over the next 2 weeks.

For those who bought our jigs in the past don't fret we will take care of you. We will have you send in your jig and we will drill out the selector hole drilled and put in one of the bushings. Please do not drop ship them to me, call me and we will work it out.

We are out of the AR-15 80%'s with the selector hole drilled. We will have the 80%'s with out it Monday.

We do have .308 80%'s with the selector hole drilled.
