M1 Carbine. $600. Includes two ten round magazines and US case pictured.

Receiver marked US POSTAL
Barrel marked UNDERWOOD 1943

Runs fine. Selling to finance my divorce....

I believe that all of the GI carbines (Inland, Nat'l Postal Meter, IBM, Winchester, etc.) were made in WWII, so they are C&R and cash and carry deals. The later made ones such as Iver-Johnson and IMI are not, though.

I think is is C&R because of the age (1944 US Postal stamped on the barrel).

Is there anyway to tell from markings on the carbine?

I just edited the description in my original post to be more accurate and to include some more photos.

Possibly pictures with better lighting would help, its looks like its in great condition but i cant tell for sure due to the low lighting, also how long have you personally owned the rifle, the more history the faster guns sell. I love M1 carbines, GLWS
