(SOLD to jigenax)Up for sale is a very nice 1916 Spanish Mauser in 7.62 Nato. The receiver, bolt, floor plate and trigger housing all have matching numbers. The stock is in good shape with a few small dents. It is missing the rear sling swivel. The finish is about 90% with the very front of the barrel having most finish wear. The barrel is in great shape, bright with sharp lands and grooves, looks almost new. There is a little pitting on the outside of the barrel in front of the handgaurd as can be seen in the pictures.I am asking (SOLD to jigenax)$250.00. The first unconditional I Will Take It posted to this thread followed by a PM gets it.This is over 50 years old and is a C&R,so it is a cash and carry deal.I need a copy of your drivers license for my bound book.I am in Hayward. Thanks for looking...

(SOLD)Up for sale is a very nice Saginaw S'G' M1 carbine. Its serial number is 1768xxx with an Underwood barrel dated 9/43 w/flaming bomb.I was told that the barrel may be original to the receiver. It has most other mixed parts as can be seen in the pictures.Trigger housing is welded type marked BE-B,Hammer is marked I I,Mag release M,Slide is marked W,Bayonet lug EM-Q,Front sight N,Rear sight I.R CO 7160060,Bolt marked 35S.The stock is in good condition with the normal dent and dings,no major splits or cracks. The finish is about 60% plus.Muzzle reads 2 on a CMP gauge. This should rate easily as a service grade. It does have a small import mark on the underside of the barrel.I think it reads ORD Arlington VA.It is hard to read.It is a good shooter and has lots of life left. I am asking(SOLD) $620.00 This is over 50 years old and is a C&R,so it is a cash and carry deal.
The first unconditional I Will Take It posted to this thread followed by a PM gets it.Let me know if you have any questions or need more pictures. Thanks for looking.....

very nice! just out of curiosity, how was it converted into 7.62 nato ?

Would this be safe to fire full power .308 through?

I had read somewhere that these were converted by changing barrels. The rifle says 308W on the barrel, but everyone says not to shoot 308 ammo through it.Only shoot 7.62 Nato which has a lower pressure. This rifle is headspaced for 7.62 Nato and is good to go with 7.62 Nato ammo.I have fired maybe a dozen rnds through it with 7.62 Nato and had no problems.

Here is an article (attachment) I saw online back when I got mine from Samco some years ago. The 7.62 NATO vs. .308 Winchester has always been one of those hot-button topics.

I have read that these rifles were actually rechambered for 7.62CTME which has a much lower pressure limit.

Then again, I've read the Spanish re-did their autos in 7.62CTME but the 1916 bolts were done in 7.62 NATO.

If the CTME info is right -- just check into it -- the pressure (going off memory here so don't quote me) is about 42,000.

If they they are right for the NATO round than the pressure limit should be 50,000.

Regardless, I'm almost positive they were not meant for the 60,000 limits of modern 308 ammo and heavy bullets and I think some Rem ammo hits over 62,000 so do keep that in mind.

Looks like a nice example by the way.

EDIT: Just looked at the article linked above which seems reassuring; but you may want to read up on the history of the rifle yourself, just to be sure.
