Left the house early, made one stand and nothing came in.
Oh well off to the squeeks. My friend let me borrow his Savage 17hmr, what a sweet gun. I really hope someone trades me for my keltec or at least buys my keltec.
I won't tell you how many I shot because no one will believe me. I took some pictures, but my camera on holds twenty-one pictures, enjoy. One more thing. CCI TNT do alot better than hornady ballistic tips.

So I take it you are pleased with the .17 HMR as a squirrel cartridge? BTW, go ahead and tell us how many you got and how many shots fired. Typical range? Max range?

Actually from looking at the pictures, my guess is that a lot of them died instantly and never knew what hit them. It's actually a very humane kill in that the little guys don't suffer much if at all. Sure, the squirrels are left without their dignity, but generally that means they don't suffer for minutes bleeding out from mortal wounds. IMO giving a squirrel an instant death is the duty of any hunter.

What grain TNT's were you shooting with 20 or 17?

17 tnt, the cheapest they had at wallyworld. As far what I did with them, I sent them to PCH for jerky. No really they are a plague, the fleas and ticks that live on these bastards have nasty diseases.
Ranges varied from ten feet to 200 yds. Pretty good way to spent a morning. I have to get me a 17 now, or maybe I will just keep Bruces'.

Please explain how the TNT's are better? I've got a buttload of the Hornady and rather than keep buying it I may get TNT now.
