It's not only legal to own, but also on the roster.

Even the S&W Walthers (SW99) are still on the approved list.

No, the P22 is illegal in the factory (threaded barrel) configuration.

No sir, you are incorrect. The CA Approved P22 have a permanently attached thread protector on the end of the barrel.

No, he is correct. There is a CA-legal model of the P22 that doesn't have exposed threads, but the standard P22 sold in the rest of the world DOES have a threaded barrel and IS illegal in California.

I own one, it has a permanently attached thread protector on the threaded barrel.

Right, and that's why it's CA-legal -- the threads have been permanently rendered useless. The standard P22, with the removable thread protector, is illegal.

I own a Walther P99 Compact in 9mm with the AS trigger. Just bought it a couple of months ago. So yeah, legal.

They're illegal to own? No longer available?

YES! Time to mark mine up 400% and stick it in the classifieds! :D

Illegal?

Says Who?

I own a P99C and I owned a P99 until I sold it to another Calgunner.

Last I checked, they are on the roster list.

Here is the one I wish was on the approved list... the PPS.

HERE is the LIST for Walther from the CA Gun List: Which will show that the P99 is certainly on the approved list and not "illeagal"... Find one that is really all German... not a partial... SW/Walther P99... you will then have found a nice pistol. Ck with Walther USA and speak with EARL... he will tell you if it's the real deal.

I would love a PPS to go with my P99 and P22. The Calgunner BHPFan mentioned is yours truly. :-)

The P99 is on the roster and approved for sale in CA.
