Very nice build almost exactly like mine, except I have the ACOG.

It's up for debate really. A few general things like a free float barrel, full length hanguard and optic (Leu\ACOG)

I see. I was under the impression that Recce AR's were accurized carbines with 16" 1:7 or 1:8 twist stainless steel barrels. But I guess it's just a general "concept" for free floating carbines.

Oops! It's a middy. I changed the OP.

Typically "Recce" (short for "reconnaissance") indicates magnified optics. The idea is that it's a scout rifle. Relatively compact, accurized (trigger, free floated, stainless steel barrel), capable of engaging targets at range without being a full blown marksman/sniper rifle.

I'm not arguing with you, just addressing the "what is a Recce" questions. Your rifle is very nice!

Yes, well an ACOG will help me towards that end. I chose a chrome lined barrel for longevity, but I realize SS is more accurate. I did not want a medium profile barrel either, they're heavy. Last but not least the 2stage trigger, after some research it seems that for close range blasting a single stage is faster.

what kind of bolt catch is that?

Are you a lefty or a righty? If you're right handed, how do you activate the light on the right side? I've seen this config with some other rifles (righty owners) but never figured it out.

Armalite LPK, weird huh

I'm a righty. I figure I'll know ahead of time if I'm gonna need the light. That's why I didn't go for the whole pressure switch thing

Light should go on the other side.

Great blaster, it's actually an ideal CQB carbine, not sure why you're calling it a recce.

Eotech is only on there temporarily. Soon to be replaced with an ACOG (not sure which model yet)

I know it's not a really real recce, but it's got some of the stuff. Cut me a little slack.........although I probly would call someone else out too:eek:

BCM lists this upper under 2 catergories: 16" midlength upper and recce. That could be why the op referred to it a a recce. It's already been stated that the rifle is not a true recce rifle and he has acknowlegded it.

Very nice build, I have a similar upper, only difference is I got the standard barrel.

Not calling you out Jason, just sayin'. :) With the ACOG you'll be there...a recce is for medium-distance precision shooting. Thumbs up for your choices overall. I like longer rails so you can get the light farther out, DD Lite is my favorite, and I'm an SOPMOD fan. If you have both the Eotech and ACOG on LaRue mounts you can switch them out as needed and cover pretty much any need with one upper.

That DD rail is really worth the money. I just got the sopmod like 4 days ago and have yet to shoot with it, but it's really solid compared to the MOE on my Rock River. Thanks for the thumbs up. Cheers:cheers2:

Why a quad rail if your not putting a forward grip? Might as well be a tube. It will feel better on your hand and be lighter.
