My old company is looking for a system administrator, here's the job description:

Location: Redwood City

SpotMixer/One True Media

Job Opening: System Administrator

SpotMixer is a startup company inventing cutting-edge video creation and distribution technology. Our consumer site (www.onetruemedia.com) lets anyone make professional-looking videos online and has reached 3.5 million members, making us the #1 true video editing site on the web. Our business site (www.spotmixer.com) enables small- and medium-sized business owners to create and distribute their own video ads and has been selected by several large partners, including Google, as their video ad creation tool. We have two patents pending so far.

Our work environment is high energy but low stress, with an emphasis on rapid progess, brilliant, creative solutions, ongoing learning, and keeping everything else to a minimum. Required Skills:

* Linux Administration
* Server Buildout
* Storage Management (NFS/iSCSI)
* LDAP Administration
* Experience with Monitoring Systems (Nagios or similar)
* Experience with Graphing Systems (Cacti or similar)
* Ability to read Perl/PHP and make (at least) basic modifications
* Basic Apache Administration

Optional Skills:

* Cisco Router/Switch/Firewall Network Administration
* Basic VMWare Server Experience
* Foundry Switch/Load Balancer Administration
* Juniper / Netscreen Firewall Administration
* Familiar with OpenVPN / Vyatta Open Source Router
* Java and/or Ruby Coding
* MySql Administration

Responsibilities:

* Administer, troubleshoot, and scale our self-balancing, self-cleaning massively parallel storage array
* Build out new servers
* User and permissions management
* Maintain and extend monitoring rules (Nagios)
* Maintain and extend graphing tools (Cacti)
* Assist network engineers in network troubleshooting
* Manage and extend backup and archiving processes
* Basic DNS and DHCP management (can learn on job)
* Basic Corporate IT / Desktop Support
