So with the help of CGF and Twinjetguy, I got my rifle put together. I couldn't be happier with what I choose to purchase. I am just waiting on a rifle bag and a sling to come in the mail this Thursday and I am going to take it to the range this weekend. Range report to follow.

Here are the Specs.

Lower:
JDMachinetech stripped lower.
RRA Single Stage trigger and LPK with right hand ergo grip.
Magpul buttstock.
Raddlock

Upper:
GG&G Dominator-1, New Configuration. Here's the link: http://www.gggaz.com/index.php?id=35&parents=38,39
Young Manufacturing Match BCG
Gunfighter Charging Handle

Here's the pics.

I think you did a very nice (tasteful) job.

I like the GUNFIGHTER handle's latch..... is that the MEDIUM latch?

Stainless BCG looks pretty sweet too.

Thanks! I saw some of your other posts with your ACOG's that you are selling. They look very nice. I am probably going to pick one of those up. I plan on mastering the iron sights before getting any optics though.

I did alot of listening and research, that's for sure. I wanted to get it done right the first time, instead of going real basic and then just spending more and more money in the future to get it how I wanted.

I am debating on taking it to either Sac Valley Shooting Center, or Cordova shooting center this coming Friday. I'll probably go to Sac Valley. It's a furlough Friday for me, so I am going to use the time wisely. =)

You couldn't be more right about that. I actually got two JDMachine lowers since I was going to have to pay the DROS and transfer fee's anyways. May as well get two lowers in on the same DROS. Thanks for that advice Twinjetguy!

So I have another stripped lower to play with. I will probably throw in another RRA LPK and let it simmer for a while. I am really diggin the OD Green or Flat Dark Earth looks. I may go classic A2 style in an FDE.

Nice job bud. Except for that BUIS:thumbsup: The Troy really is nicer if u check them out side by side

Hah, that's funny you mention that. I did some research about the BUIS. There was a pretty good thread a few weeks ago that discussed this, and while the nicer BUIS's are, "nicer", that's about it. They still do the same thing as the cheap Magpul plastic flip ups.

It's the same school of thought that keeps the original A2 rear handle and front block sight so good. The design was from decades ago, but still proves to be just as effective and your top dollar alternatives.

Go featureless with the second one. That's what I'm doing.

Your right, it does what it's supposed to. I just didn't like the big ole ears and base, and it doesn't lay flat. You may have noticed I'm slightly picky. As a side note I have a cheapo carry handle on my Rock River and it works great.

Sweet rifle bro:cheers2:

Thanks man!

I am going to shoot it and zero it in tomorrow at the range. I can't wait! I will start a range report thread sometime tomorrow.

Hey SF!

Man, that thing turned out SWEET!!!!! For a "first AR" (more to come obviously) that is truly awesome. You have me interested in the Young Manufacturing BCG now. I may have to pick one of those up for myself.

That really is a AR that anyone could be proud of. Very well thought out. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the second lower. A FDE A2 is a hell of an idea. I don't think I have seen one of those before.
