Although they cannot be registered as .50 rifles, there are .408 Cheytac and .510 DTC uppers available for our newly aquired lowers. There are some who argue that .408 Cheytac is more accurate and harder hitting than .50. Ronnie Barret argues his .416 round is more accurate and harder hitting than .50 BMG.

Very nice, I've never even heard of these calibers and can't find much of anything on them, let alone ballistics.

Also, how would they know if we bought after 1/1/05? I mean, I thought the DOJ didn't keep firearm sale records more than ten days.

Sorry about that, I was just curious and not even in that frame of mind. I retract my question.

Can you spell PERJURY

Main Entry: per·ju·ry
Pronunciation: 'p&r-j&-rE
Function: noun
Inflected Form: plural -ries
Etymology: Anglo-French perjurie parjurie, from Latin perjurium, from perjurus deliberately giving false testimony, from per- detrimental to + jur- jus law
: the act or crime of knowingly making a false statement (as about a material matter) while under oath or bound by an affirmation or other officially prescribed declaration that what one says, writes, or claims is true

Not necessary, AWs registered prior to 2005 need not re-register for .50 BMG AFIAK.

Being a spelling Nazi. Now what about this new .416 caliber or the .510 DTC? Those should be perfectly legal to throw on the new lowers, correct?

I purchased a singl shot (no magwell) lower before the ban how do you register that as a .50. under caliber it says on the receiver
"Model VRS Cal. .223"
but the registration paperwor asks for caliber? Would you put down .50 even though the receiver says .223? I also have a Barrett that I was working on the registration paperwork for tonight. So should I add the DPMS lower on as well?
Thanks

If you purchased the single shot lower before 1/1/2005, then YES, register it along with your Barrett.
If it asks for caliber, put .50BMG. It doesn't matter what the receiver says.
