What happens if your lower makes the list? Once its registered as an assault weapon.. and grandfathered... can you unpin the mag? or are you still stuck with the fixed mag?

Well, we SHOULD be able to unpin the mag. However, the DoJ has expressed the opinion that we can't but it is unclear at this point if they intend to stick with or enforce this opinion.

See the memo here (http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/forms/pdf/ar15notice.pdf).

Don't be discouraged, there has been quite a bit of discussion on this subject. Read that FAQ and do a search, then make up your mind.

If they DOJ is smart they'll just send out reg cards and possibly a nasty letter or something similar. Then they will proceed to maintain the list better in the future. If they're foolish, they'll try to go up against us in court and it will go on for years just like Kasler and Harrot did.

In the meantime, these may have pinned mags or no pistol grip. But lets face it, these are _REAL_ AR-15s and the only thing different from ARs in the free states is about $0.15 worth of parts from ACE Hardware or Home Depot :D HAHAHA!
