I have seen CETME rifles sold on CALGUNS and wonder why they are not considered a AW under the Robert Ross AW ban. I have been told, the originals were imported under Century International, and the current ones are manufactured by Century Arms. Because of this the AW ban will not apply. Ture?

They are "legal" if not registered as "AW" *IF* they have a bullet button.

If AW registered, legal without BB.

If you didnt buy it before the "AW" ban, you cant buy a "registered" AW, so you need a BB or rig up some kind of "monsterman grip" or the like.

Treat it the same as a kali legal AR.

The ones from century have enough US made parts in them to be sold in the US without being considered foreign made imports-

The MARS CETME's that were made in Spain are on the list, so they are no-no's.

The Century Inc. CETME's are off-list and can be owned legally as long as you use a BB or MM or otherwise avoid configuring it as a class 3 AW.

The only Century CETME that's illegal and on the list is the "CETME Sporter", also if you are thinking about getting a G3 type of rifle your best bet would be PTR91 (very beautiful and high quality rifle), you can find them on many websites who ship to California.

Checkout this video and you won't want the crappy CETME... PTR91, ALL THE WAY!
