I wrote about it here a while ago but a kid from concord was flown into bucanan fields after dying in iraq. I went to show my support for a home town kids last voyage anf i gotta say it was the saddest thing i have ever seen in my life.

I'm sorry for the loss. I saw a motorcade for a fallen soldier a while back. As it passed under an overpass, there were at least 30 firemen on the overpass standing at the edge saluting. I started to cry in my car.

This is what I think of whenever I think of a fallen soldier. RIP Hero.

My deepest condolences to you and his family. It saddens me when I hear of another soldier dying.

I would think that being family and next of kin he should be gtg, but I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.

Sad, sad, sad.

The brother should just keep the 1911.

If he carries it concealed unlawfully because it is not registered to him he might be on the the hook for felony rather than a misdemeanor.

I would ask - are either of the parents still around? If so, I'm pretty sure what happened is the brother that died gave it to his mom or dad and said "Mom/Dad - please keep this safe, and if I don't make it back, it's yours to do with as you please." And then the mom or dad gave it to the surviving brother once they heard the horrible news.

Now, if that were true, the transfer is legal and the surviving brother need only get a HSC and send in the oplaw form with the $19 or whatever CalDOJ extracts these days for the privilege.

Sad, sad, sad.

Im pretty sure that must be the way it happened.^^^
