Good morning everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a sporter 10 rd. magazine compared to a flush 10 rd. magazine for a .223?

Never heard of it. Got a website or something for more info?

The one that looks like it's a 20 rounder? That's all it is, for looks. All 10 round AR mags are or near flush with the bottom of the mag well. Some companies install extended base plates so that you can grab the mag to pull it out.

OK, I think I know what you're talking about.

The difference between a magazine that fits "flush" and a normal 10rd magazine is that the 10rd magazine "pokes" out of the magwell, and the "flush" magazine sits "flush" in the magwell.

the flush ones are for top loaders maybe? I know a guy that owns a gun shop here whos afraid of bullet buttons so his AR15 is loaded by removing the rear taken down pin, opening it up and dropping a 10rd mag in.

Well if it is a Colt sporter mag... those were 9 rounds which I could imagine could be flush with the bottom of the magwell.
