Cape Buffalo and plains game. You can go for the big cats and elephant after you get a couple of hunts under your belt.

I guess that would depend on what type of weapons you have.

I'd start with Ground Squirrels - good way to start spending time out in the woods looking for game. You can use the time to scout for other larger game as well.
Plus Lots of Trigger Pulls.

I would say he needs a little more than a couple... Seen some bad stuff happen to guys that thought they were ready and weren't. Definitely wouldn't recommend cape buffalo at first. That goes in between the plains game and cats / elephant.

On a second note, its all about what tickles ur fancy. Quail huntin can be a real hoot if thats ur cup of tea. If you like the whole "stalking" aspect, there's always deer, antelope, or elk closer to home than going to southern Africa. If you prefer blind hunting well you can hunt deer that way, and there's always the plains game of Africa.

I gotta tell you though, if you like bird hunting definitely try quail hunting man. Its a lot of fun and a fun rush. Out of all the animals i've hunted for over the years top two would have to be quail or zebra cus of how finnecky they are. There's an added element of surprise that you don't get with blind hunting or other prey that makes it really fun.

I'm poor and broke but I have a lot of free time.So vermin or bird is probably where I will start.I went quail hunting when I was a kid but didn't get any.Had lots of fun though.
