View Full Version : Anyone up for 3-Gun at Metcalf?
I was looking over the Santa Clara Field and Sports Park website and noticed they let you rent the 200yd range for the day ($200). Hoping there is a few other 3-Gun nuts that would like to schedule to rent the range and put on a 3-Gun Match on a Saturday? We would need at least 10 guys ($20ea) and people to help build shooting stations and barriers. Have transitions from Bolt Gun (200yds) to Handgun. Carbines to Shotguns,,, etc. Any interest in you Bay Area guys?
Higher Scoring for the 10rd Group:) . We could take a poll of Mag Capacity, Rifles, Ranges ...etc. If anyone is shy rifle, shotgun or Handgun, I or someone else could lend out ours for your turn. You could also try out the CA Rifle Project w/ High Cap Mags.:D

Don't you have to be an established shooting club with full insurance?
I knew there had to be something I was missing. Doesn't look like much interest anyways, I will call to see what is involved in renting the Range for the day though (Just in Case:) ).

I'm interested. I just got my upper and buttstock in. I have about a dozen 30-rd magazines, so no fixed 10-rounds for me. For a fun shoot, I don't care about scores anyway. Of course I say that because I'll miss a lot.

I would be interested and if the matches were on Sunday, I think I could rustle up 2-3 more people.

Zouaves usually do time-and-accuracy matches after the regular Highpower shoots on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. It's typically a 7-10 shot course designed so you can shoot with a bolt or semi-auto at various cleverly painted and semi-concealed steel targets 50-200yds from a variety of positions. There's usually 6-10 people and you can run through the course as many times as you want.

not to mention the match director has gotten rather sadistic with the target size as of late
:D
If its in mind-June or later (waiting for my 1100 shottie to arrive) and some nice guy can let me borrow a .223 for the match, I'm in. :)
I tried to get some info from Santa Clara Parks and Regs, but looks like they only allow shooting organizations or groups (like DMC, SAS etc..) to rent the 200yd range. You also need insurance for the event, so looks like we'll be out of luck. Sorry Guys, I tried.

I am in but I also want to sight my 50 in on that 200yr range as well. I know a couple other people that would be up for it as well.

There are some members from The Richmond hotshots and TASC clubs around here, maybe its possible to coordinate something with them?
It would mean running under USPSA rules, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue, right?

HHMM.....Did you check the calendar? I would contact Geoffrey Linder and ask as well. I will check when I am there this sunday for the limited match. Coming out for that?
