Nope, it has to be imported as a dimensionally compliant single shot pistol.

single shot? so you have to chamber a round every time after you pull the trigger?

PM Sent, also forgot to mention that once you take it out once as a Single Shot it can be converted to Semi-Auto which means using 10 round mags is okay ;)

What does "dimensionally compliant" mean? I thought pistol can have any overall length/size.

If it is limited to just a single shot, did you consider the TC Contenders? Seems a bit more useful w/ simple caliber/ammo switch capability. Or are those not legal in CA?

Chapter 1.3 Unsafe Handguns

12133 (b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a
single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches
and that has an overall length of at least 101/2 inches when the
handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.

single shot? so you have to chamber a round every time after you pull the trigger?

This comes up all the time in threads here, so do a search for all the details.

But the basics as I understand them are:
1) Has to be a pistol AR lower
2) It is not on the CA Safe Handguns Roster so the only way you can get them brought into CA is using the single shot pistol exemption, this is done by using a BB and a 0 round sled to fill the magwell
3) After you have imported, purchased, DROS'ed, waited 10 days, and bragged to everyone you know about how sick your new gun is that you just got home, then you remove the 0 round sled and insert your 10 round mag
4) From then on you have to go fixed 10 round mag

Thanks Mr. obvious! ;) More like I need to mod it a LOT! Needs a shorter buffer tube, Aimpoint, 10 round mag, Sling attachment point, BAD lever, Side charging piston upper, etc, etc... Give me some time, I just picked it up today!

BTW, Spikes Tactical kicks A**!!!! I will be a repeat customer for sure!

Spike's does great work. They have great customer service, too.

They just finished my pistol build and I am very happy with it, you will too.
