View Full Version : Proper scope for Ruger M77 .308

I was hoping some could give suggestions as to which scope would fit my hunting rifle best. I have a Ruger M77 .308 that I use for hunting wild boar mostly..with the occassional deer here and there.

I have been using a very old, cheap scope for quite some time. I know the M77 is not exactly a .25 MOA rifle, but I want to get a scope that would fit the ability of the rifle. I cant see putting on a Leupold LR-T on this thing.....correct me if I am wrong.

Any suggestions as to a good scope for this rifle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a $160.00 Nikon on my Savage bolt gun. Adequate for my abilities shotting Bullseye & Sihlouettes. Nikon, like most of the other decent scopes, have a good guarantee :)

Leupold VX-II 3-9X gives you the flexibility for both pig and deer.

For the past 6 years I was buying Leupold scopes, but I purchased a Burris pistol scope (sold to best pal's dad, very happy) and was very happy.

www.riflescopes.com has some pretty interesting package deals. Remember, on most scopes Burris has a life time warranty just like Leupold.

Better value at the same price.

REALLY cant go wrong with either the Nikon or the Leupold....

But if funds are a concern... I'm kinda partial to the Busnel ELITE series. Pretty tuff & nice scope in itself at about 40-50% less. But I will redily admit I'm a bigger fan of the Leupolds~ So if you can go that route......
