hey there has anyone hunted the cottonwood creek upper area, a friend and are are going to try some coyote hunting up there, anyone heard anything?

You are going to have to use non lead ammo up there.I have never been up in it but I have passed threw that area .One time i saw hogs.

what do you mean hiing while armed?? not a good spot to possible try some calling?

I think he meant there is nothing up there.I think that place would be loaded with coyotes there is not that many coyote hunters in the valley most are in socal.
Good luck watch out for rattlers.
Check out JHO that site has a lot of people that deer and pig hunt that place.

I'm pretty sure the area is closed down till the opening of deer season.

i've done a little bit of "hiking while armed" myself...it's not exactly fun...heh heh. this happened while i attempted turkey hunting at Spenceville WA two weeks ago...heh

(B) Upper Cottonwood Creek Unit.
Location: Approximately 30 miles east of
Gilroy and 20 miles west of Los Banos, on
the north side Highway 152. Access is by foot
only. The area is open to big and small game
hunting, nature study and related activities.
Visitors are cautioned to watch for rattlesnakes,
especially during the mild spring and fall
months. Daily Hunter Capacity: No limit
except during the opening weekend of the
general deer season when the number of
users is controlled by a special drawing.

frearms and archery equipment. Firearms may
be used or possessed only from the opening
of the general Zone A deer season through
the last Sunday in January. Archery equipment
only may be used from the start of the Zone A

2. Hunt Days: Daily from opening of Zone A
archery deer season through the last Sunday
in January during open seasons for authorized
