View Full Version : Sabre Defence 6.5 Grendel Uppers in Action.

I finally got in my Sabre Defence 6.5 Grendel 24" Heavy Bench Target uppers in so I took one out to try it with my Nikon 4.5-14x40 SF scope and a Stag Model 7 lower I pulled off my complete rifle. My first group wasn't too bad, but my second group was much better. I was using Wolf Gold 139 Grain BTHPs.

I think I am going to like this platform.

I also shot a 18" 6.5 Grendel Competition Deluxe upper with an ACOG TA31F. I will post a video of it after it uploads.

Please feel free to ask any questions and if you want one, you can find them on my website.

Nice shooting and thanks for sharing.

What kind of reticle did that scope have?

And was the ammo factory or handloads?

You can tell it's windy, the ammo box nearly blew off the table.

I keep looking at 6.5 Grenny uppers but I can't shake the fear that it's going to wind up on the Island of Unwanted Calibers. Unless it gets adopted by the military it may stay a wildcat round for long range use. Which blows because the ballistics of this round are superb.

It was Wolf Gold 139 grain ammo. I need to get set up to reload for it.

I doubt it is going to go extinct as far as ammo goes. There are a lot of 6.5 uppers out there and ammo is scarce. People will keep making it because of the demand.

I really enjoyed shooting it. I think the recoil might have been milder than the 6.8SPCs I have shot and it sure had no problem hitting the 500 yard plate. The problem with 700 was I was having to hold over so hight, I didn't have a good reference point for the cross hairs. I should have adjusted my elevation.

That scope has the BDC reticle.
