I'm in the market for an ACOG. I'm pretty much set on the TA31H Horseshoe. I can't decide wether to get the green or the red.

Personally I like red because it gives better contrast. I mean how much red is there in you AO anyway? I tried a green reticle and I traded it for a red after a while.

Hope this helps

I was told the human eye is most sensitive to green however it's too easy to lose in foliage. Red would be my choice.

After some tests with my green laser outdoors in daylight, I agree that green is the wrong color due to it's ability to blend in with a target or background. It probably works great in low light conditions, but I'd prefer red since it should be distinguishable in just about every scenario.

I have a TA33G w/chevron and a TA11R w/donut on 2 ARs.
The colors don't seem to put me off but the shapes do make a difference.
Chevron for finer accuracy and donut for general use.
I am finding that the green helps me shoot better in dusk to evening and the red for bright daylight conditions.
I am splitting hairs as these are both good to use. My experience only. Your mileage may vary.

Green is wicked bright, though. It's faster to pick up in both daylight and nighttime--at least for me it is.

I'm going to try green on my TA44 when it comes in (waiting impatiently...)

The green was designed for night or low light use. Red for day. I love mine in red. Would liked the chevron but wanted the FDE and it's only avalible in crosshairs. At least it's red. Get red!

Guess now they need to make one where you could change the reticle colors. Best of both worlds.

I think I would prefer mine in red, it seems like it would stand out more from most scenery (why I'm guessing most sights are red dots and not green dots). Green would be my second choice, and would be cool to have with an OD theme!
